Ways to Give
One-Time Donation
Ticket sales cover only 30% of our revenue - the rest we raise from generous individuals who love to support our brand of fresh, intimate storytelling through opera.
Any checks can be made payable to Boston Opera Collaborative and can be mailed to our secure PO Box at the following address: Boston Opera Collaborative PO Box 301622, Jamaica Plain, MA 02130
If you're making a gift by card, please use our donation form to make a one-time or recurring gift .
Clients of all donor-advised fund entities can make gifts to BOC through your donor-advised fund organization. To make a gift via your donor-advised fund, please provide your DAF entity with our Tax ID: 20-4377736.
Sponsorship
Sponsorship of BOC's performances, programs, benefit events, and new initiatives is available at various levels.
Many benefits are included in levels of sponsorship including VIP Invitations to BOC events, Lunch/Dinner with the Executive Director, backstage tours, and more!
Monthly Giving Club
With a recurring gift of as little as $5 per month, you can join other loyal monthly donors committed to supporting Boston Opera Collaborative all year long. A recurring gift spreads payments across a monthly schedule and allows for a consistent impact.
With a monthly gift of $5 or more*, you’ll receive:
-
Stickers to rep BOC wherever you go
-
A 10% discount code for all remaining shows this season
-
Invitations to exclusive BOC events
*In order to receive benefits we ask for at least a 12-month monthly commitment.
Why Give Monthly?
-
It’s Easy! Setting up your monthly donation takes less than five minutes, and your ongoing gift will have a lasting impact.
-
It’s Automated! Your monthly donation means more of your dollars go toward what you see on stage and in the community rather than toward paper and postage.
-
It has a Consistent Impact! Monthly donations build a stable foundation, allowing BOC to plan into the future to implement long-term initiatives and visions.
-
It’s Flexible! You can make changes to your monthly donation at any time.

IRA Qualified Charitable Distributions (QCDs)
Anyone aged 70 1⁄2 or older can make a qualified charitable distribution (QCD) of up to $100,000 from their IRA to Boston Opera Collaborative. This mutually beneficial way to donate helps you achieve your own financial goals while supporting the BOC community!
BENEFITS
-
Unlike regular IRA withdrawals, the QCD amount is excluded from your taxable income.
-
It can satisfy all or part of a Required Minimum Distribution (RMD).
-
QCDs do not require you to itemize. Due to the recent tax law changes, this means you may decide to take advantage of the higher standard deduction while still using a QCD for charitable giving.
-
Your gift will be put to immediate use, bringing more opera to more people in more places!
Contact your IRA administrator to initiate a direct transfer to BOC. For your convenience, download a sample letter for your IRA provider. For any questions, please contact Andrew.Barnwell@bocopera.org
In-Kind Contributions
From food and beverages to props and vehicles, our operations depend on the generosity of individuals and businesses willing to help with in-kind donations. Please email Andrew.Barnwell@bocopera.org to discuss any in-kind contributions.
Help with Space
Rehearsal space, office space and storage space are three of our greatest needs -- and largest expenses. We're open to temporary and permanent arrangements with businesses and institutions that can offer a few hundred square feet for a low fee or barter. Please email Becca.Allen@bocopera.org to discuss further.
Volunteer
From helping patrons find their seats to painting sets and organizing parties, we can always use an extra hand or two. Please email Becca.Allen@bocopera.org with your interest and the subject line "BOC Volunteer - Interest"
Join our Board
The BOC board welcomes individuals from the greater Boston area with a passion for supporting the arts and bringing more resources to help build a small non-profit company. Please email Becca.Allen@bocopera.org to discuss further.
